The inspiration for LOST WEAVE came not from the Himalayas, but from Morocco. Carpets in that country, known as boucherouite, are handmade by women at home for their own use. When many nomadic tribes from the Atlas Mountains began to settle down in the 60's and 70's, the change in lifestyle caused wool to become scarce. As an alternative, people began making traditional rugs from recycled clothing, fabric and even strips of plastic. Each knot is planned with precision and realized in workshops in Nepal with meticulous attention to detail.
