By Lassen

Born to be architects, brothers Mogens Lassen (1901 – 1987) and Flemming Lassen (1902 – 1984) have left a unique design heritage to future generations. They were among the first architects to work with Functionalism in Denmark. The Lassen brothers’ archive of architecture and furniture design represents the finest qualities of the Danish design tradition, this is why By Lassen carefully selected the furniture designs to reintroduce them to the world.

With its bearlike shapes, curved form and voluminous armrests, The Tired Man chair designed by Flemming Lassen in 1935 soon turned into an ultimate icon. Sitting in the chair should, in authors’ own words, be “as warm and safe as a polar bear cub in the arms of its mother in the middle of the ice cap”. Another cult piece – The Kubus candleholder was the first step towards the brands’ visual language we know today. The Kubus collection is produced with up to 95% recycled steel at By Lassen's local factory in Holstebro, Denmark. By Lassen furniture collection features lounge chairs, cabinets and storage, couches, chairs and stools, benches and tables.
