Motifs of wallpapers taken from the 17th-18th centuries, when European interpretation of exotic Chinese design, also known as chinoiserie, flourished in Europe. The wallpapers are hand painted on a paper or silk base, and the layout of drawing and colour palette can be tailored to individual preferences.
